Job Description

The CADD Designer will be responsible for a variety of projects including, but not limited to, working in collaboration with other Rausch Coleman Homes Team Members to help achieve the highest level of performance.  The Designer will evaluate construction drawings, plats, and other documentation to prepare:

  • Conceptual residential subdivision design
  • Accurate lot matrices (verification homes will fit on specific lots)
  • Plot plans
  • Grading plan design and plan preparation

Other expectations:

  • Estimating construction quantities utilizing CADD to determine quantities
  • Understand basics of surveying principles such as points (P, N, E, Z, D) and recreating boundary descriptions using bearing and distance
  • Understanding of features that make up a residential plat such as legal descriptions, easements, & setbacks
  • Recommend ways of making plan delivery more effective
  • Establishing standardized drafting procedures
  • Assessing the effectiveness of CADD standards and drawing practices

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Establish and maintain CADD standards, template files, supporting documentation, and plan library in paper and/or electronic form as appropriate
  • Develop standard design details in coordination with senior management
  • Develop methods of data collection from other Rausch Coleman Homes Team Members to allow plans and process to conform to multiple locations
  • Work with other Rausch Coleman Homes Team Members to advance the product development process
  • Ensure design program compliance throughout the design-development process
  • Evaluate methods to deliver highly accurate plans to field personnel
  • Evaluate the impact of design and drawing changes, including easements, at any scale

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Position will office at the Rausch Coleman Homes Home Office in Fayetteville, Arkansas
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling and Adobe required
  • Ability to multi-task, meet time lines, and manage changing priorities
  • Ability to anticipate job requirements and the initiative to act accordingly
  • Ability to breakdown construction operations into logical sequence of activities
  • Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to comfortably multi-task and set priorities
  • Ability to work in collaboration with other team members
  • Able to work independently and without supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail and well organized
  • Flexibility required for travel to divisions and possible extended stays at divisions (expenses paid)

 

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and frequently moving small objects
  • Frequently sitting for long periods of time
  • Walking or standing occasionally
  • Must have manual use of hands and vision to use a computer, I-pad, or handheld device
